The Artists Behind the Harvest Rights NFTs

Each Harvest Rights NFT carries unique digital art based on a real piece of artwork created by a local Nicaraguan artist.

How the art works

Vida Verde purchases the original artwork from the artist. Then 100 unique digital versions of that piece are associated with each series of 100 Harvest Rights NFTs. The artist is supported financially, and their work gets promoted. As Vida Verde puts it, the support lets artists keep doing what they love and inspires younger artists to carry the Nicaraguan art style forward.

So a Harvest Rights holder is not only part of the farm’s harvest. They are also supporting the art and culture of the country.

The artists

Oscar Danilo Valverde Gutierrez started drawing at seven, mostly superheroes. At twelve he began learning from a painter he met while selling newspapers door to door, running errands in exchange for lessons. He saved up for his first watercolors and sold early paintings on cardboard for a few cents.

Henry Valverde Canales was drawn to painting as a child, inspired by a brother who drew and sculpted. He became so absorbed in drawing that it caused trouble at school, until teachers and classmates began admiring and asking for his work.

Jorge Jose Sandino Romero loved drawing from childhood, starting with cartoon characters, and later moved to portraits and magic realism. Self-taught through online tutorials and daily practice, he has funded his university studies in graphic design and computing with his paintings.

Biographical details are drawn from the original Vida Verde site and were written in 2021–2022.
